During the class of biology, the learning objectives are to learn about the environment around us, how it affects us, and how it works. This is valuable to my future because I should know what my environment is made up of and why, also what it can cause. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for biology had the following learning objectives are to learn what GMOs are and why they are beneficial or not.
Transpiration Experiment ROL
During Biology, the learning objectives are to know about the world around us, such as our bodies, animals, food, and plants. This is valuable to my future because I should know what i’m taking in and what is inside me. The project that I am submitting as an artifact for biology is my groups transpiration experiment the following learning objectives were to learn about plants, know the parts and their jobs, and know how plants have transpiration.
The assignment or project was about transpiration and what helps transpiration happen more with different temperatures. It required me to learn about plants take notes and quizzes, learn about transpiration, and learn how to do the experiment. The Process I went through to do this project and meet the learning objectives first started with learning about plants and what goes on inside them. Then take notes on videos. We then got quizzed on questions based on everything we learned. We then went and made a experiment, we put plants in beakers with wrap over them, placed them in boxes, and put them under different temperatures. Finally we wrote a lab report on the experiment. Throughout this process listed above I have realized I have learned a lot about plants and why they are important.
The Two School Wide Learning Outcomes I demonstrated with this Artifact was being a self directed learner who communicates effectively and thinking critically and creatively. I have demonstrated being a self directed learner who communicates effectively in the artifact by learning the curriculum and understanding it. This is important because I need to be able to do that through high school as well as college. The Second SLO I demonstrated was thinking critically and creatively by figuring out ways we can trap the air inside. I could have improved on thinking critically and creatively by making it way better and putting more effort into it.
Overall the the most important things I have learned in this class this year are knowing what goes on im=n my body, what DNA is, why plants are important, and what plants do. These skills I have learned in this class will help me in the future by making me well aware of what is around me.
